Bengaluru out-of-home

Billboards and hoardings in Bangalore.

Billboards and hoardings are large-format advertising on Bangalore's arterial roads, junctions, and high-footfall corridors. Namma OOH secures legal, well-sited placements and runs the whole campaign — siting, compliance, production, installation, and monitoring.

The large format, done legally

The large format is still the loudest signal a brand can send in a city. A well-placed hoarding on the right corridor reaches hundreds of thousands of people a day, and it does it without an algorithm, an ad-blocker, or a skip button. In Bangalore, the challenge is not whether large format works. It is getting a legal, well-sited placement in a city that regulates outdoor advertising more tightly than almost any other in India.

Where it works

The corridors the city funnels through

Arterial roads, flyovers, and the junctions into the tech belts — the places a large-format hoarding earns its scale and gets seen on repeat.

Where it works in Bangalore

The value sits on the arterial network and the junctions the city funnels through: the corridors into the tech belts, the ring roads, the approaches to the central business district, and the high-footfall retail and dining streets. The right site depends entirely on who you are trying to reach and where they move. A real estate launch in the north wants different sites from a D2C brand chasing young professionals in the south-east.

What it is good for

  • Launches and announcements that need to feel large and unavoidable.
  • Sustained presence that builds familiarity over weeks and months.
  • Owning a corridor or a catchment that matters to your business.
  • Anchoring a wider campaign with a physical, city-scale statement.

How we handle it

We start from your objective and identify the corridors and catchments that serve it. We secure legal, permitted sites, handle the paperwork and compliance, manage the creative and printing to the required materials, oversee installation, and check that what went up is what was booked. Through the campaign we monitor condition and report back.

The Bangalore rule book

Bengaluru spent years under a near-total ban on commercial hoardings, and the city is now formalising a new, legal framework under the BBMP. The rules are strict: limits on where a hoarding may stand and how far apart sites must sit, restrictions tied to road width and zone, a ban on PVC flex in favour of biodegradable materials, and tight controls on illumination and moving content. PVC flex is out. Illegal hoardings get pulled down. This is precisely why brands work with an agency that tracks the rules and places only where it is legal to. A pulled-down hoarding is not a saving. It is a loss.

Who it suits

Real estate and property launches, retail and showrooms, national brands establishing a Bangalore presence, and any brand that wants to own a specific part of the city.

How we run it

  1. Plan the corridors

We choose the arterials and junctions that reach your audience, by catchment.

  2. Secure permitted sites

We lock legal, well-sited inventory and handle the paperwork and compliance.

  3. Produce to spec

Creative and printing built for three seconds and thirty feet, on compliant media.

  4. Install, monitor, report

We install, check condition through the run, and report back with site photos.

Done legally

Permitted, well-sited, built to last

We place only on legal sites within the BBMP framework, with compliant materials and the right illumination, so your campaign stays up.

What it costs (and what drives it)

Billboard cost in Bangalore is driven by a few things, not a single rate: the quality and visibility of the site (a marquee junction costs more than a quiet stretch), the duration of the booking, illumination, and production and installation. More sites and longer runs lower the effective cost per location; premium corridors carry a premium because they are worth it.

We do not publish a rate card because the right answer depends on your corridors and objective. Tell us the goal and the budget and we will come back with a plan and the numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, within the BBMP's framework. Bengaluru regulates hoardings tightly — limits on location and spacing, rules tied to road width and zone, biodegradable materials (PVC flex is banned), and controls on illumination. We place only on legal, permitted sites so your campaign stays up.

On the arterial network and the junctions the city funnels through — corridors into the tech belts, the ring roads, approaches to the CBD, and high-footfall retail and dining streets. The right site depends on who you want to reach.

Everything: identifying the right corridors and catchments, securing legal permitted sites, paperwork and compliance, creative and printing to spec, installation, and condition monitoring through the campaign.

Site quality and visibility, booking duration, illumination, and production and installation — not a flat rate. Marquee junctions cost more; more sites and longer runs lower the effective cost per location. We scope a plan to your budget.

Typically a few weeks from brief to live, depending on site availability and production. Premium sites can need to be booked ahead. We confirm timelines once we have locked the specific sites.

Through photographic site audits that prove the campaign is up and well-maintained, plus the business metric you care about — enquiries or footfall during the window. Audience estimates can be added where data exists.
